Glen is a state-maintained fishing access located at mile 25 on the Big Hole River, south of Butte in Madison County. The site features a carry-in boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small boats. This access point is well-positioned for flexible float trips—you can shorten runs from Brownes Bridge upstream or extend floats continuing downriver toward Notch Bottom.
The Big Hole River at Glen offers a mix of fishing and recreation opportunities within reach of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. As one of 14 official state access sites along the river, Glen provides reliable public access, though facilities are more primitive compared to developed sites elsewhere on the river. Plan accordingly for parking, restrooms, and facilities—this is a functional access point rather than a full-service recreation area. The unimproved ramp works well for float trips and lighter watercraft.
