Good Hope Landing

Good Hope Landing is a public boat ramp located in Cottageville on the Edisto River in Colleton County. The access features a paved ramp and floating dock, with parking for 6–8 vehicles. To reach the landing, take McDanieltown Road north from the intersection with Highway 17A for 2.8 miles, then turn right onto Good Hope Landing Road at the second brown Edisto River access sign; the landing is at the end of the road.

This is a popular spot for local boaters, canoeists, kayakers, and anglers. The Edisto River in this section offers opportunities to explore several abandoned river channels and developing oxbow lakes, though these side areas are best accessible during higher water levels. As you paddle downstream from here toward other landings, expect to encounter increasing motorboat traffic from anglers, as additional boat ramps become more prevalent in lower sections of the river. The site is highly rated by local users and provides good access for day trips and longer paddling adventures.
