About This Access Site
Goose Lake Wildlife Area offers a public boat ramp providing access to Goose Lake, a 62-acre seepage lake located near Charlotte in Clinton County. The access point is situated along Kessler Road on the north side of the lake. The day-use area includes parking, picnic tables, a vault toilet, and the boat ramp, making it convenient for a quick launch or full-day outing.
The lake is stocked with trout multiple times throughout the season, including catchable-size cutthroat, rainbow, and brown trout, making it popular with anglers. The surrounding habitat is predominantly marsh (3/4) with some timber and upland areas (1/4), creating good wildlife viewing opportunities. A U.S. Forest Service campground is also available at the site for those planning overnight trips. The area is known for being family-friendly and operates on a first-come, first-serve basis.
