**Location & Access:**
Gorton Pond is a 58-acre freshwater pond located in Warwick, Kent County, at the southeast corner off Post Road. From I-95, take Exit 10A (southbound) or Exit 10 (northbound) onto Route 117 east. The boat ramp provides public access and is the recommended launch point for kayaks, canoes, and hand-carried boats.
**Boating Conditions:**
This peaceful pond offers a quiet paddling environment in a suburban setting with no gasoline motors permitted—making it ideal for kayakers and canoeists seeking calm water. The ramp itself is well-suited for launching small watercraft. A public beach is also available at the site, accessed via a short path near the ramp. Note that a fishing dock with railings is present but is not designed for boat launching.
**Nearby Recreation:**
The pond's proximity to Roger Williams National Memorial and the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve makes it a convenient access point for exploring Rhode Island's coastal water resources.
