About This Access Site
Granger Lake offers multiple access points for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters along the San Gabriel River in Williamson County. The primary public access is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with four parks around the lake providing boat ramps. A primitive one-lane launch in the San Gabriel Wildlife Management Area is suitable for canoes and jon boats without trailers. The main lake facilities feature concrete ramps ranging from two to six lanes, providing good options for various watercraft sizes.

This popular fishing destination—recognized as one of Central Texas's top five crappie and white bass spots—draws regular weekend traffic. Paddlers should expect potential congestion during peak times, particularly on weekends. The lake offers scenic day-use areas at Taylor Park, Willis Creek Park, and Wilson H. Fox Park. To reach the WMA access point from Hoxie, take Highway 95 north to County Road 347, then turn right and continue approximately 1 mile to the entrance. For specific information about fees, hours, and current conditions, contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or local park management.
