Grass Lake

Located in Pequot Lakes, Crow Wing County, the Grass Lake boat ramp provides access to this popular central Minnesota lake. The ramp is situated at the Cross Lake Day Use area, a developed recreational facility accessible from Highway 25 north of Brainerd (take County Road 3 north to the entrance, located directly across from the intersection of roads 3 and 66). This is a day-use facility with amenities including picnic areas and a swimming beach, making it a family-friendly destination.

Kayakers and canoeists will find Grass Lake suitable for paddling with good access facilities. The concrete boat ramp allows straightforward launching for small watercraft. Note that the facility is not ADA accessible. For specific information about current ramp conditions, water levels, or facility hours, contact the managing agency at 651-290-5803. This location serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the lake's fishing opportunities, particularly for bluegill and largemouth bass.

The area offers two group picnic shelters. The #1 shelter is located upstream of the dam and is smaller than the #2 shelter which is located downstream of the dam, along the Pine River. Canoe access is available along both shores of the Pine River downstream from the dam. A swimming beach and two accessible fishing piers are available within a short walk of the parking area.
