Great Island

The Great Island boat ramp provides access to the Atlantic Ocean and Long Island Sound in Old Lyme, Connecticut. This paved concrete ramp is located at the end of Smith Neck Road, within the Great Island Wildlife Area.

The launch features a paved access road and parking area, with space for up to 35 vehicles. Chemical toilets are available seasonally. However, there are no docks or disability access at this site. Boaters and paddlers should note that the area can be shallow at low tide, so launch timing is important.
