About This Access Site
Green Turtle Bay Marina offers a full-service boat launch and marina facility located on Lake Barkley near Grand Rivers, Kentucky, just south of Barkley Dam and Locks. This is an excellent access point for paddlers and boaters launching onto the calm waters of Lake Barkley, a scenic impoundment on the Cumberland River. The marina provides fuel (gas and diesel), pump-out services at the fuel dock, and transient docking. Note that the entrance channel is well-marked but requires careful navigation—pay close attention when entering.

The facility includes amenities such as clean bathrooms, courtesy cars for boaters, and nearby walking areas. While primarily a marina-based facility, it provides convenient access for both day-use paddlers and overnight stays. The lake environment is ideal for casual kayaking and canoeing, offering scenic views of the surrounding area and proximity to Land Between the Lakes and other regional attractions. This location serves as a good base for exploring the broader Lake Barkley area and accessing the Cumberland River system.
