About This Access Site
Located in Wurtland, Greenup County, this boat ramp provides access to Greenbo Lake, a 225-acre impoundment on Claylick Creek. The ramp is well-maintained and suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The site is part of a full-service state park facility with a marina (open April-October) offering 65 boat slips and rentals including canoes, row boats, and pontoon boats, making it convenient for paddlers without their own equipment.

The lake is popular for both fishing and recreational paddling, hosting largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and trout. Paddlers should note that the nearby Ohio River—Greenup Pool offers a deeper water option with a 9-foot navigation channel extending 61.8 miles upstream. The state park also features camping with 79 utility-equipped sites and 24 primitive sites, making it ideal for multi-day paddling trips. A fishing pier is available for anglers, and amenities include showers and service buildings throughout the facility.
