About This Access Site
Greenwood Lake in East Cook, Cook County offers a public boat ramp facility for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The access area features two boat ramps, a dock, and pull-through parking for vehicles with trailers, making it convenient for launching and retrieving boats. A beach area is also adjacent to the facility, and basic amenities including a convenience store are located approximately 1.5 miles away in either direction along Highway 61.

This access point serves as the primary entry to Greenwood Lake, a popular recreation destination in northeastern Minnesota. The area is suitable for day-use paddling and boating activities. If you're planning to camp in the area, note that there is a backcountry campsite available on the lake (first-come, first-served basis) with basic facilities including a fire grate and latrine. Remember to follow Leave No Trace principles: hang food packs, extinguish fires completely, treat or boil all water, and wash dishes and yourself away from the shoreline.
