About This Access Site
The Greers Ferry National Fish Hatchery boat ramp provides direct access to the Little Red River below Greers Ferry Dam. This is a popular put-in for paddlers and anglers exploring the scenic tailwaters of the Little Red River as it flows into Greers Ferry Lake. The hatchery grounds offer flush toilets, drinking water, and a trailer dump station to support day trips and longer excursions.

Greers Ferry Lake is a large reservoir surrounded by parks and campgrounds, offering ample opportunities for boating, fishing, and other water recreation. The Little Red River is known for its high-quality trout fishery, fed by the cool, clear waters released from the dam. This access point is well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats to float and fish the river and explore the lake. Nearby campgrounds like Dam Site Campground provide accommodations for multi-day trips.

Boaters and paddlers should be aware of potential hazards like submerged obstacles, fluctuating water levels, and potential conflicts with power boats in the main lake. As a federally-managed facility, there may be restrictions or fees associated with use of this site, so it's advisable to contact the Greers Ferry National Fish Hatchery at (501) 362-3615 for the latest information before your visit.

The trout are distributed into tailwaters below federally operated dams located within Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. The hatchery is also involved in the conservation of imperiled non-game fishes. Over 50,000 people visit annually.
