The Hana Boat Ramp provides access to the Pacific Ocean on the eastern coast of Maui, Hawaii. This single-lane boat ramp is maintained by the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation.
The ramp is located in Hana Bay, a sheltered inlet along the rugged Hana coastline. The bay's calm waters make it a suitable launch point for kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats. However, boaters should be aware of potentially hazardous ocean conditions outside the bay, especially during periods of high surf.
The Hana Boat Ramp is in close proximity to Haleakala National Park, which offers hiking trails and scenic ocean vistas. Paddlers and boaters may have the opportunity to spot marine life such as sea turtles, dolphins, and humpback whales (in season) while enjoying the natural beauty of this remote part of Maui. Visitors are advised to check local weather and ocean conditions before launching and to exercise caution when navigating the open ocean from this access point.
