About This Access Site
Hanks Creek Park offers a well-developed boat launch on the northwest shore of Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Angelina County. The facility features a single-lane concrete ramp suitable for all boat types, along with a courtesy dock, ample parking, and year-round access. A restroom facility is available on-site. Note that water levels can fluctuate seasonally, and the ramp may have limited usability during low lake periods, so conditions are worth confirming before your trip.

Located about 10 miles north of Zavalla via FM 2109 and FM 2801, this Corps of Engineers-operated park provides convenient access to the 114,000-acre reservoir for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. The park also offers camping facilities and serves as a gateway to the surrounding Angelina National Forest, with opportunities for wildlife viewing and birding. Day-use passes are available through Recreation.gov, and for camping or specific facility details, contact the park at 409-384-5716.
