About This Access Site
Located near Winner in Roseau County, Hayes Lake State Park offers a single-lane concrete boat ramp and wooden dock for easy water access. The ramp is well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats onto Hayes Lake. The park provides additional amenities including two fishing piers, a swimming beach, and canoe rentals (availability may vary seasonally). Electric motors are permitted on the lake.
The park is an excellent base for paddlers and anglers, with undeveloped shoreline featuring multiple bays and points ideal for exploring by canoe or kayak. Hayes Lake supports healthy populations of northern pike, permeye, crappie, sunfish, and largemouth bass. The surrounding state park offers 35 campsites (including electric hookups and hot showers), two camping cabins, and a fish cleaning station. Winter visitors will find the lake popular for ice fishing, with groomed snowmobile trails also available on park grounds.
