Hazel Bazemore County Park offers a convenient boat ramp and trailer parking facility on the Nueces River near Corpus Christi. The 77.6-acre park features a driving loop with multiple pull-over parking areas, making it accessible for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The park also provides picnic areas, BBQ pits, and pavilions (first-come, first-served basis), making it suitable for day trips or group outings.
To reach the ramp from Interstate 37, take the George West/Highway 59 exit, then follow Business 59 to the traffic light at Highway 281. Turn right and continue approximately 3 miles to Airport Road, then follow signs to the County Park. Beyond paddling, the site is notable as one of the nation's premier hawk-watching locations during migration season, so expect to share the park with birders, particularly in fall months. The park is maintained by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
