About This Access Site
The Hendrum access site on the Red River of the North is a public boat launching facility located 1 mile west of MN Highway 75 on Norman County Road 25, near Hendrum in Norman County. The site includes a picnic area with water, shelter, and sanitary facilities, making it a convenient stop for paddlers and boaters.

The Red River of the North is a large, powerful waterway (classified as a Stream Order 7 river) with an average flow of approximately 4,500 cubic feet per second and a moderate gradient of 0.5 feet per mile. Paddlers should expect consistent current and be prepared for a wide river with significant water movement. The river drops 195 feet over its 399-mile length, creating steady paddling conditions suitable for experienced kayakers and canoeists.

**Note:** As with all Minnesota boat ramps, this facility may experience seasonal closures or maintenance work, particularly in spring and summer. Check current usability status with the Minnesota DNR before your visit, and be aware that water conditions can vary significantly with seasonal flow changes.
