About This Access Site
Henrys Lake State Park offers a concrete boat ramp suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats on Idaho's 6,000-acre Henrys Lake. Located 15 miles west of Yellowstone National Park, the day-use area features a paved parking lot with ample trailer parking, courtesy docks, and vault toilet facilities. The ramp provides straightforward access to this popular fishing destination surrounded by the Continental Divide on three sides.

The South Shore Boat Access area includes an undeveloped ramp, primitive camping options, and a wildlife-viewing platform, making it an excellent base for paddling and exploration. The lake is situated within the Island Park Caldera and is designated as an Important Bird Area along the Idaho Birding Trail, offering excellent wildlife-viewing opportunities. Nearby recreation includes access to Island Park Reservoir and the Henry's Lake Wilderness Study Area, providing paddlers with additional exploration options in this scenic high-elevation region.
