About This Access Site
The Hensley Lake Recreation Area in Raymond, California offers a convenient boat ramp and access point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats on Hensley Lake. This man-made lake, created by the Eastman Dam on the Chowchilla River, provides a scenic setting for water-based recreation in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

The boat ramp provides direct access to the lake, which is surrounded by oak-covered hills and supports a variety of wildlife including bald eagles, wood ducks, and other birds and animals. Several nearby campgrounds, including the Wildcat Recreation Area and Codorniz Recreation Area, offer accommodations for those looking to spend more time enjoying the area. Visitors should be aware that while the boat ramp is open to the public, some facilities in the area may require reservations or have limited hours, so it's best to check the details before planning a trip.
