Heritage Peace River Landing, located on the Peace River near Bartow in Polk County, offers convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats. The site features an ADA-accessible floating dock on the south side of the SR 60 bridge, making it an ideal launch point for paddlers of all abilities. Day paddling is possible year-round at most water levels, though multi-day trips downstream to Fort Meade require a minimum USGS gauge reading of 72 feet at Fort Meade.
The Peace River in this section is characterized by easy to moderate paddling with a gentle current, occasional riffles over rock bottoms, and some small shoals depending on water levels. From Heritage Landing, paddlers can explore downstream toward Fort Meade and access other launch points along a designated paddling trail, including US 98 Bridge at Fort Meade Recreational Park and Crews Park. Nearby attractions include Paynes Creek Historic State Park and Mosaic Peace River Park.
