Located in Bowie County near the Sulphur River channel on Wright Patman Lake, this boat ramp provides access to one of northeast Texas's largest recreational water bodies. The lake encompasses approximately 30,000 surface acres across beautiful piney woods terrain, offering plenty of space for paddling, fishing, and boating activities. This is one of 17 boat ramps available around Wright Patman Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The ramp is situated in the upper lake area near the Sulphur River channel, making it a good choice for paddlers interested in exploring the river's slower sections. Nearby Malden Lake Campground (reservable) provides lodging options for those planning an extended visit. Note that bighead carp have been confirmed in the Sulphur River below Wright Patman Dam, which may be relevant for anglers. For specific information about ramp conditions, hours, facilities, and any day-use fees, contact the Corps of Engineers or check current Recreation.gov listings before your visit.
