High Bridge Ramp

**Location & Access:** High Bridge is located in Wilmore, Jessamine County, along the scenic Kentucky River in an area known as "the Palisades." From Wilmore, take KY-29/High Bridge Road south 4.8 miles, then turn right onto Lock 7 Road and continue 0.8 miles to the ramp on the left. A launch fee applies for canoes and kayaks.

**Important Safety Note:** This ramp sits just upstream of Lock and Dam 7, a low head dam that presents a serious hazard. Paddlers should stay toward the right bank after passing under High Bridge and avoid drifting toward the dam. The site works well as a put-in for paddling upstream under High Bridge toward Shaker Landing and the Dix River Gorge, or as a takeout point for downriver trips.

**Nearby Recreation:** Camp Nelson National Monument is located within 10 miles and offers historical exhibits, camping facilities, and additional recreation opportunities. The area's rolling Bluegrass landscape and river corridor make it an attractive paddling destination.
