High Falls Reservoir #1 in West Bay offers a public boat launch for paddlers and boaters accessing this 1,471-acre lake in Marinette County. The reservoir has a maximum depth of 54 feet and supports diverse fish species including musky, walleye, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and panfish. The West Bay location provides a good starting point for exploring the lake's numerous bays and coves.
Parking is available on Wisconsin Public Service property near the Johnson Falls Dam and along angler access roads on state forest property. The area is popular for recreational boating, so paddlers should be prepared for potentially busy conditions, especially during peak seasons. The site is located in the Town of Stephenson near Crivitz. For current conditions, hours, and any amenities, contact the Wisconsin DNR or visit their boat access website at dnr.wi.gov/topic/Lands/boataccess/ for the most up-to-date information.
