Highline Lake State Park offers a convenient boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats to access the calm waters of Mack Wash - Highline Lake. The west-side boat ramp provides easy launch access, with a new concrete pad installed in 2024 to improve conditions.
Boating is permitted at Highline Lake from March 1 to September 30, though the lake can reach capacity on busy weekends, requiring boaters to wait their turn. The lake is open to a variety of water sports, including power boating, jet skiing, water skiing, and sailboating. Nearby amenities include the North Fruita Desert Campground, as well as easy access to the 18 Road mountain bike trails and the Rabbit Valley Trail Through Time fossil site.
Paddlers and boaters should be aware that Highline Lake and Mack Mesa Lake have been designated as "infested" for zebra mussels, so precautions should be taken to avoid the spread of this invasive species. Overall, the Highline Lake boat ramp provides a scenic and accessible option for exploring this desert oasis in western Colorado.
