Hightower Landing is a public boat ramp providing access to Holmes Creek near Vernon in Washington County, Florida. The landing features a concrete ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. Located in the Atlantic Coastal Plain region, Holmes Creek offers a scenic paddling experience through relatively flat terrain with gentle flow characteristics typical of North Florida waterways.
To reach the landing, travel south from Vernon on SR 79 for 7.2 miles to Miller's Ferry Road, then turn right and continue 3.8 miles. Turn left onto Shell Landing Road (which becomes SR 284A) and drive another 2.9 miles until the road dead-ends at the landing. This access point makes it convenient for day trips paddling downstream toward Hightower Spring and back, or connecting to nearby paddling routes. The concrete ramp provides reliable launch and takeout conditions for paddlers of all skill levels.
