About This Access Site
The Highway 105 Bridge boat ramp provides access to the West Fork San Jacinto River near Conroe, offering a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats. This location sits in a backwater zone influenced by Lake Houston, which results in slower river flow in this area. The ramp is suitable for year-round paddling and serves as a practical starting or ending point for river trips.

**What to Expect:** Upstream of Interstate 45, the river features densely wooded banks with a narrow channel. Paddlers should be prepared for low-hanging tree branches and brush, particularly during lower water levels, which can require some maneuvering but pose no serious hazards. The backwater effect means relatively gentle conditions, making this suitable for paddlers of various skill levels.

**Important Considerations:** Exercise caution during and after heavy rain—the surrounding low-lying areas drain quickly into the river, causing rapid water level rises and potential flooding. Popular shuttle routes use this site in combination with other access points upstream (such as Highway 242 or Interstate 45) or downstream (Bennett Estates or McClellan Sorters Road). Parking may be available outside the immediate park area if gates are locked.
