The Hite Marina boat ramp provides access to the Colorado River and Lake Powell in southeastern Utah. While the marina itself has been closed for years due to low water levels, the boat ramp remains a popular put-in for both paddlers and motorized boaters.
The Colorado River at Hite is a wide, relatively slow-moving section just upstream of the Lake Powell reservoir. This makes it a suitable access point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. However, be aware that the boat ramp can be steep and rocky, requiring care when launching and loading. A high-clearance 4WD vehicle is recommended to access the ramp, as the approach road can be rough.
Nearby, the Fiddler Butte Wilderness Study Area and Hog Springs Recreation Area offer scenic desert landscapes and primitive camping opportunities. Paddlers and boaters should come prepared with all necessary supplies, as amenities at the Hite access site are limited. Checking current water levels and conditions is advised before planning a trip from this location.
