About This Access Site
The Honokohau boat ramp provides access to the Pacific Ocean from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. This public launch site is part of the Honokohau Small Boat Harbor and features three boat ramps, a large parking lot, and nearby amenities like a restaurant and marine services.

The ramp is located on the north side of the harbor, accessible by taking the first right after turning into the harbor entrance. Paddlers and small boaters can launch directly into the harbor basin, which provides sheltered water before heading out into the open ocean. The harbor offers 262 boat slips, as well as a repair shop and other facilities to support recreational boating.

While the boat ramp is open to the public, there may be fees or access restrictions in place. Boaters and paddlers should check for any current regulations or conditions before visiting. The exposed nature of the Pacific coastline also means weather and ocean conditions can change rapidly, so exercising caution is advised when launching and navigating in this area.
