About This Access Site
Horn Pond in Acton offers a well-maintained public boat launch ideal for kayakers and canoeists. The cement ramp features a dock and is located to the left of the recreation area. **Important note: motorized boats powered by gasoline or petroleum products are prohibited on Horn Pond.** Electric battery-powered vessels are permitted. The launch is free to use, with ample free parking available in the large lot at Horn Pond Recreation Area and on nearby streets.
Paddlers should be aware that if using the Lake Avenue boat launch access point, boats must be removed from the water by 8:00 PM, as parking area gates close after that time. The ramp has been recently renovated and is considered one of the better public launches in the area. Horn Pond connects to the Salmon Falls River system, making it suitable for exploring both pond and river environments. This is an excellent choice for non-motorized paddling and a popular destination for recreational boating activities.
