About This Access Site
Horseshoe Lake is a 27-acre lake in Polk County, Wisconsin, offering a public boat landing on the north shore within a well-maintained county park. The concrete boat ramp provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats, with a 50 HP motor limit enforced on the lake. A daily launch fee of $5 applies (seasonal passes available for $20). The access area is open year-round, though vehicle access is limited to the period from the 4th Saturday in April through October 31.

The park facility includes restrooms, grills, picnic areas, and a playground, making it suitable for families and day-trippers. The ADA-accessible boarding dock and route of travel accommodate paddlers with mobility considerations. With a maximum depth of 28 feet, the lake offers decent water volume for paddling exploration. Note that the lake was recently under a toxic algae caution advisory—check current conditions with Kitsap Public Health District before visiting to ensure safe paddling conditions.
