Horsey Pond

Horsey Pond offers a newly developed public access point to Little Creek, a medium-sized stream (Stream Order 5) with substantial flow averaging 4.27 cubic feet per second. The 1-acre facility features a 14-foot-wide boat ramp, an 80-foot aluminum fishing and crabbing pier, and a bulkhead, providing reliable water access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. From this launch, paddlers can access Little Creek downstream toward Crab Alley Bay and Eastern Bay. Year-round wheelchair-accessible portable toilets are available on-site.

Little Creek is a headwater stream with an average gradient of 43.7 feet per mile and flows roughly 349 miles to its mouth, making it a dynamic waterway best suited for paddlers comfortable with moderate current and flow conditions. The surrounding Sussex County area offers wildlife viewing and fishing opportunities. This is a solid access point for both day trips and longer paddling adventures on the Little Creek system, though paddlers should be prepared for variable conditions typical of flowing streams in Delaware's coastal plain.
