About This Access Site
Hulah Lake offers a well-developed boat ramp and access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters near Whippoorwill in Osage County. Located approximately 9.5 miles northeast of SH 99 on SH 10, this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-managed site features boat launching ramps, parking for boat trailers, docks, and nearby amenities including restrooms, showers, drinking water, and a swimming beach. The lake itself spans 2,635 surface acres with a 27.3-mile shoreline and maximum depth of 20 feet, providing good conditions for paddlers and recreational boating.

The site is part of the larger Hulah Public Hunting Area (14,112 acres) and includes a migratory bird refuge covering approximately 1,800 acres, making it excellent for wildlife viewing. Full-service camping with RV hookups is available through Corps-managed campgrounds. For those needing supplies, Copan Bait & Tackle is located in nearby Copan (about 9 miles away). The area also provides access to notable local attractions, including the nearby Woolaroc Museum. Additional recreation options are available at Copan Lake, a 4,850-acre impoundment located a short distance away on the Little Caney River.
