About This Access Site
Hulah Lake offers a well-developed public access point near Whippoorwill in Osage County for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The lake spans approximately 2,635 acres with a 27-mile shoreline and maximum depth of 20 feet, providing diverse paddling opportunities across a substantial impoundment on the Caney River. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains the facility with multiple boat ramps, camping areas with full RV hookups, drinking water, restrooms, and a swimming beach.

The site is located about 12 miles west of Bartlesville via US 75 and OK 10. In addition to the main ramp access, the Hulah Public Hunting Area encompasses over 14,000 acres with developed recreational facilities. Nearby Copan Lake offers an alternative access point if needed. This area has notable historical significance—oil discoveries here made the Osage Indian tribe among the wealthiest in America. The Woolaroc Museum is located nearby for those interested in regional history.

Bait and tackle services are available locally, with Copan Bait & Tackle in the nearby town of Copan. Plan your visit by checking current pool elevation levels and seasonal conditions, as water levels can fluctuate. The Corps-managed facilities support both day-use and overnight camping, making this a convenient base for extended paddling trips on the lake.
