About This Access Site
Humphrey Access is a 12-acre recreational area managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation, located in Platte City on the Platte River. The site offers bank access to the river and is easily accessible from Kansas City via I-29 Exit 18, or locally from Platte City by heading south on Route N for 2 miles, then west on Humphrey Road. The access area includes parking and basic facilities for launching kayaks, canoes, and small boats.

The Platte River in this area forms scenic meanders that create excellent short float trips and half-day fishing opportunities. Note that the old boat slide at Humphrey Access has been damaged by previous flooding and should not be used—plan your launch accordingly. The river's configuration makes it possible to run a shuttle between Humphrey Access and upstream ramps, requiring only one vehicle for a complete float trip. Additional bank access is available nearby at Platte Falls Conservation Area, which offers over 10 miles of river frontage.
