About This Access Site
Blackhawk Marina at Indian Lake State Park provides a 16-foot-wide boat ramp offering convenient access to Indian Lake, a 5,800-acre reservoir on the Great Miami River system. This is one of four ramps available at the park and serves as an excellent launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore the expansive lake. The park facilities include boat docks for rental and is part of the larger Indian Lake State Park recreational area, which offers amenities such as camping, picnicking, and fishing opportunities.

Indian Lake is a popular destination for a variety of water sports, featuring unlimited horsepower boating and designated skiing zones. A notable feature for paddlers is that Indian Lake is Ohio's only inland lake with lighted buoys for night navigation. The lake's calm, reservoir-style waters make it suitable for paddlers of varying skill levels, though boaters should be aware of active motorboat traffic, particularly in open water zones. The lake's history as a 19th-century canal feeder reservoir and its evolution into a modern recreation hub ensure excellent infrastructure and well-maintained facilities for all visitors.
