About This Access Site
The Interstate 37 Bridge access point provides boater and paddler access to the Nueces River in Corpus Christi. This location offers a convenient launch for exploring approximately 4.3 miles of scenic river stretches where you can observe local wildlife including birds, turtles, and fish. To reach the access site, take the George West/Highway 59 exit from I-37, then follow Business 59 to the traffic light at Highway 281 and Highway 59.

Please note that this access area is undergoing improvements as part of a larger I-37 infrastructure project. A new boat ramp turnaround is being constructed at the Nueces River to better accommodate vehicle and trailer maneuvering. Before visiting, check current conditions and access status, as temporary closures may occur during ongoing construction. The Nueces River in this section is relatively calm and suitable for kayaking and canoeing, making it an ideal location for paddlers seeking a relaxed paddling experience close to the city.
