About This Access Site
The Iron Gate Reservoir boat ramp at Camp Creek provides access to the 6.5-mile long reservoir for kayakers, canoeists, and small powerboats. The boat ramp is located off Iron Gate Road, about 8 miles east of the Interstate 5 Hornbrook/Henley exit.

This is a basic, unimproved boat launch without amenities like docks or restrooms. The ramp leads directly into the reservoir, which has a surface area of around 944 acres. The reservoir was created by the Iron Gate Dam, which impounds the Klamath River. Water levels can fluctuate throughout the year, so be prepared for varying launch conditions. Motorized boating is allowed, but no overnight camping or day-use access is permitted at this site.

Nearby recreation opportunities include access to the Pacific Crest Trail and Emigrant Lake. Anglers can also launch boats from this ramp to fish the Klamath River below the Iron Gate Dam. Be aware that the Klamath River Renewal Corporation has announced early closures of some recreation sites in the area, so be sure to check for any updates before your visit.
