Jamestown Reservoir offers excellent recreational opportunities for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters in central North Dakota. Located just 2 miles north of Jamestown, this 2,095-acre reservoir features approximately 45 miles of shoreline, providing plenty of water to explore. The site includes a dedicated boat ramp at Lakeside Marina (2944-2966 E Lakeside Rd) and seven additional ramps around the reservoir, giving paddlers multiple access options.
The facility is well-developed with ample amenities including two campgrounds with 335 total campsites (110 with RV hookups), picnic areas with shelters, two swimming beaches, and boat rentals available on-site. There's also a dump station and over two miles of asphalt trails on the east side for pre- or post-paddle activities. The reservoir's size and protected waters make it suitable for both beginner and experienced paddlers, though conditions can vary seasonally.
