About This Access Site
Janette Lake offers a public boat launch for paddlers and boaters in St. Louis County. This 133-acre lake features a maximum depth of 23 feet and provides access to both day-use activities and overnight camping opportunities. The ramp accommodates most standard recreational boats (typically 12-18 feet), and there are no launch fees unless a vehicle permit is required for the area.
Beyond the boat launch, the site is part of a larger recreation area with excellent amenities for extended trips. Paddlers can explore the lake and access six dispersed backcountry campsites via water, or take advantage of the rustic 3-site campground near the launch. The area also features 5 miles of scenic trails with Hogback ridge views, a day-use picnic area, and wildlife viewing opportunities. The dark water lake setting provides a scenic paddling experience in a well-developed access area.
