Located 6 miles southeast of Summerton at the end of Greenall Road in Clarendon County, the John C. Land III Boat Ramp is a well-developed public access point on Lake Marion. The facility features a six-lane boat ramp, four courtesy docks, and ample paved parking for 170 vehicles and trailers, making it ideal for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. Restrooms and a concession area are available on-site.
Beyond the main ramp area, a dedicated boating event facility includes a floating event dock, shelter, and additional parking for 200 vehicles, indicating strong community support for water recreation. The ramp provides access to Lake Marion's quieter waters, particularly the areas near Tawcaw Creek, making it suitable for paddlers seeking calmer conditions away from heavy boating traffic. The proximity to Santee National Wildlife Refuge (15,000 acres) offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and scenic paddling in the surrounding Atlantic Coastal Plain region.
