Johnson Lake offers public boat access via a dedicated ramp located at the Inlet Campground on the lake's west side. This is a solid option for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats looking to access this Marquette County water body. The launch area is near developed facilities, including a fish-cleaning station and a handicap-accessible fishing pier, making it convenient for a full day of paddling or fishing.
The Inlet Campground provides additional amenities for those planning extended visits, with 31 campsites offering electrical hookups and 10 primitive sites available. A separate North Side Inlet Area also provides primitive camping and another accessible fishing pier with vault toilets and drinking water. **Note:** Park entry permits are required to use these facilities. For current information on access hours, fees, and seasonal availability, contact Marquette County Parks or check the Michigan DNR boating access website before your visit.
