Johnson Reservoir offers a boat ramp for accessing the Fremont River and surrounding waters. The ramp is suitable for launching both small, motorized boats and non-motorized craft like kayaks and canoes.
The reservoir is located in scenic Sevier County, Utah, around 50 miles southeast of Richfield. It covers 685 acres and is fed by creeks off the Fish Lake Plateau, providing a range of fishing opportunities. Anglers may catch rainbow, brown, brook, and tiger trout, as well as splake and yellow perch.
Facilities at the recreation site include a vault toilet restroom. There are no overnight camping options directly at the boat ramp, but the nearby Paiute Campground is within 10 miles. Paddlers and boaters should be aware of the reservoir's unique and potentially challenging conditions before heading out.
