Johnson's Ranch Marina offers a single-lane concrete boat ramp with a 15-vehicle parking area, courtesy dock, restroom facilities, and on-site fuel. Located on Big Cypress Bayou near Caddo Lake in Harrison County, this is Texas's oldest inland marina (established 1908) and provides convenient access to one of the state's most unique paddling destinations. A launch fee applies. From Highway 43, turn onto FM 2198 and travel about 5 miles to the end; proceed straight at the stop sign, turn left at the Johnson's Ranch sign, and you'll find the ramp on the left side of the marina entrance.
The marina caters well to kayakers and canoeists exploring Caddo Lake and Big Cypress Bayou, with kayak and canoe rentals available on-site. You'll find live bait, snacks, cold beverages, and guided tour services. The area is known for its scenic cypress forest and shallow, calm waters ideal for paddling—Caddo Lake is the only natural lake in Texas and sits within the world's largest cypress forest. Nearby Caddo Lake State Park (just across the state line in Louisiana) offers additional facilities including a fishing pier and overnight accommodations for trip planning.
