Located in Jupiter, this public boat ramp provides access to the scenic Loxahatchee River within Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The launch area features a wheelchair-accessible ramp and pier, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The river in this section is wide and tidal, so expect to encounter motor traffic. A $4 launch fee applies in addition to park entry. Be sure to use the public boat ramp rather than the concessionaire's landing unless you're renting from them.
From this access point, paddlers can explore downstream toward Trapper Nelson Interpretive Site, where the river narrows and motor traffic typically decreases. The river eventually connects to the Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean. Idle speed limits are enforced within the park to protect the natural environment. The park also offers interpretive boat tours, guided canoe trips, and ranger programs through the visitor center (open 9 AM–5 PM daily; call 561-745-5551).
The park is easily accessible from I-95 (Exit 87A) or the Florida Turnpike (Exit 116), with nearby outdoor areas including the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area and Nathaniel P. Reed Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge—both excellent for viewing Florida's natural landscape and wildlife.
