The Rock Cliff access site at Jordanelle State Park provides a convenient boat ramp for non-motorized craft like kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Located along the Provo River arm of Jordanelle Reservoir, this ramp offers access away from the busier motorized boating traffic at the main Hailstone ramp.
The Provo River flows into the northern end of Jordanelle Reservoir, creating a scenic, protected cove ideal for paddling. Boaters can explore the reservoir's calm, relatively flat waters or venture up the river to take in the surrounding mountain vistas. The reservoir's elevation of around 6,300 feet provides a high-alpine boating experience.
To reach the Rock Cliff access, take US-40 south to the junction with UT-32, then turn left and follow Rock Cliff Road for about 7.5 miles. The boat ramp is located within Jordanelle State Park, which offers nearby camping and other recreational opportunities. Paddlers and boaters should note that no services or amenities are available at this remote access point.
