About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities**
Kanawha Falls Access is located at 9217 Midland Trail in Glen Ferris, WV, on the Montgomery side of the US 60 bridge. This West Virginia DNR public fishing access site features a single-lane concrete boat ramp with 35 parking spaces (asphalt lot), handicap-accessible facilities, and a portable restroom. Potable water and handicap fishing access are available.
**Paddling & Boating**
The Kanawha River near Kanawha Falls is a major flatwater paddling destination, flowing nearly 100 miles through Fayette, Kanawha, Putnam, and Mason counties. The site provides access to a wide navigable channel suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The area offers excellent opportunities for both recreational paddling and catfish fishing, with numerous shoreline spots and nearby lock and dam tailwater areas. Nearby recreation includes the scenic 25-mile free-flowing Gauley River National Recreation Area and the London Pool navigable stretch upriver.
