Kandiyohi County Park No. 1 (West) offers public boat access to Big Kandiyohi Lake, a 2,683-acre lake located approximately 10 miles south of Willmar, Minnesota. The park features a public boat launch facility, making it convenient for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters to access the water. With a maximum depth of 18 feet, Big Kandiyohi Lake is suitable for various paddling and boating activities.

The park provides comprehensive amenities to support a full day on the water or longer stays, including 94 campsites with electrical hookups, a swimming beach, restrooms, picnic areas with grills, and a boat/canoe center. The lake is well-known for fishing opportunities year-round, with populations of northern pike, walleye, crappies, and bullheads. Spring is particularly popular for crappie fishing in the bay adjacent to the park.
