The Kings Beach boat ramp provides access to the northern shores of Lake Tahoe in Placer County, California. This facility is open year-round, though the boat ramp itself will remain closed for the 2022 season. The ramp is intended for use by small, non-motorized vessels like kayaks and canoes. It features two launch lanes at the north end of the parking lot, and two boarding floats.
Paddlers and boaters should be aware that dogs are not allowed on the beach, but are welcome on the sidewalks and in the picnic areas. The ramp is suitable for experienced boaters only, as Lake Tahoe can experience strong winds and waves. Nearby camping options include the William Kent Campground and Alpine Meadow Campground, both within 10 miles. For more information, visitors can contact the North Tahoe Water Sports at (530) 546-9253.
