Kings Slough Boat Ramp provides access to the western side of Parksville Lake, part of the Baker Creek inlet of Lake Ocoee in the Cherokee National Forest. This is a popular launch site for paddlers and boaters exploring the Hiwassee River Gorge.
The boat ramp is suitable for larger craft, with a longer length to accommodate various vessel sizes. Amenities include a vault toilet, boat trailer parking, and a dock. Kings Slough is a fairly shallow launch, so paddlers should be aware of water levels. The lake is the oldest in the Cherokee National Forest and is sometimes referred to as Lake Ocoee, as it feeds into the Ocoee River.
Nearby, visitors will find scenic recreation areas like Parksville Beach, Sugarloaf Park, and Mac Point. Other public boat launches on Parksville Lake include the Parksville Boat Launch and East Parksville Boat Launch. Campers can also explore several nearby campgrounds within 10 miles, including Cottonwood Patch, Parksville Lake RV, and Chilhowee Group Camp.
