About This Access Site
Kitoi Bay is a cove on the southeast coast of Afognak Island, about 105 miles southwest of Homer and 28 miles north of Kodiak, Alaska. This boat ramp provides access to the Pacific Ocean and Izhut Bay.

For kayakers and canoeists, Kitoi Bay offers a sheltered launching point to explore the scenic coastline and waters of Izhut Bay. The cove provides a calm, protected area to get on the water, before venturing out into the more exposed Izhut Bay. Boaters can use the ramp to access the open waters of the Pacific Ocean around Afognak Island.

Keep in mind that the waters around Kitoi Bay and Izhut Bay can experience strong currents and winds. Checking weather and tidal conditions before launching is recommended. There are no services or facilities at the boat ramp, so paddlers and boaters should come prepared with all necessary safety gear and supplies.
