The Knox Bridge boat ramp provides convenient access to Allatoona Lake and the Etowah River in Canton, Georgia. This one-lane ramp with a small parking lot is a popular spot for launching canoes, kayaks, and small motorized boats.
From the ramp, paddlers can explore the calm, scenic waters of Allatoona Lake. Heading north (to the left) under the bridge leads to a large, relatively secluded section of the lake with minimal boat traffic. For those interested in river paddling, the ramp offers access to the Etowah River, which flows through the Appalachian Mountains in this area.
The Knox Bridge Day Use Area also features a courtesy dock and restrooms for visitors. Reservations are recommended, as the ramp is part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' activity pass system. Nearby campgrounds, such as Sweetwater Campground and PAYNE CAMPGROUND-ALLATOONA LAKE, provide additional options for those looking to explore the area further.
